B Corps are required to score a minimum of 80 points on the B Impact Assessment, verified by B Lab in order to achieve certification. If your company received a finalized score below required 80 Points following the Verification Process, next steps in the process will be to review your assessment, find and execute on improvements.

Here are a few resources you can use to learn how to improve your score:
Leverage the “Learn” button for each question to access examples, explanations and guidance on implementing a particular practice.
Please Refrain from re-selecting Impact Business that you have discussed with B Lab, and have been determined to not apply to your business.
Pay careful attention to the timelines assessed in the B Impact Assessment (Last Fiscal Year, Last 12 Months or “Current”). Make sure that you are answering questions based on the most recent and indicated snapshot in time.
Ex: if you’re making Improvements several months after the conclusion of your Verification Process in April 2020, be sure the “last fiscal year” refers to the last fiscal year completed for your business (perhaps December 2019), and the last 12 months (April 19-April 20)
As you make improvements, be sure to edit your responses and keep close track of all changes that you have made. You will be asked to document each of these changes (helpful tips on documentation here!)

We recommend re-submitting your assessment and improvements to the Standards Review Team within 2-6 months of the initial review.
If the improvement period surpasses 6 months, you will be asked to update time-sensitive information in the B Impact Assessment. Please note that once you resubmit, you may be working with a different individual than during your initial review.
