The examples below are shown using Google Sheets, however, this same functionality should be available in Microsoft Excel or any similar application

How to filter data across an impact area/impact topic

  1. Select all data in the file.

  2. Create a filter by going to the “Data” dropdown → Select “Create a Filter”

  1. Under Column B, “Impact Area” column, select the Impact Area(s) you would like to filter by. This should now allow you to aggregate points available and points earned across Impact Area(s) for each company in your portfolio. We recommend leveraging a Pivot Table for this calculation.

  1. Under Column C, “Impact Topic” column, select the Impact Topic(s) you would like to filter by. This should now allow you to aggregate points available and points earned across Impact Topic(s) for each company in your portfolio. Similar to above, we recommend leveraging a Pivot Table for this calculation.

How to aggregate data across an entire portfolio

We recommend starting with a pivot table and using that to query the data you’re looking for. For example, to view Impact Area scores for each company, you could do the following:

  1. Select Insert from the dropdown and choose Pivot Table

  1. Select all rows from the Assessments tab

  1. From the pivot table editor, add rows for Impact Area and Company Name

  1. Add values for Points Earned and Points Available as columns

You should now see points earned and points available for each Impact Area across each company. Similar calculations could be done for each Impact Topic or Question.

How to filter data across a question

  1. Select all data in the file.

  2. Create a filter by going to the “Data” dropdown → Select “Create a Filter”

  1. Select the question you’d like to filter to

How to filter for a single company

  1. Select all data in the file.

  2. Create a filter by going to the “Data” dropdown → Select “Create a Filter”

  1. Under the Company column select which company you want to filter by.
