Submitting Feedback for an Assessment Question

Modified on Thu, 25 Apr 2024 at 09:34 AM

The current standards for B Corp Certification within the B Impact Assessment offer a comprehensive set of questions that allow companies to learn, measure, manage, and improve a company's positive impact performance for workers, communities, customers, suppliers, and the environment. If you have a comment or suggestion about the content of an assessment question, the best place to provide this feedback is directly through the assessment platform. Within each question is an opportunity to share a reaction or a comment on improving the question. While we may not respond to your feedback directly, all feedback is valuable because it informs the further development of the standard and improvements on how to serve B Impact Assessment users better.

How to provide feedback

When you click the “Feedback,” you will be prompted to select the general type of feedback you are providing under “Choose a subject.”  You can then provide more detail in the text box below.

When submitting feedback, please provide the following information:

  1. A detailed description of the improvement you’d suggest to the question (be as specific as possible).

  2. A brief rationale as to why the proposed change would be an improvement for the assessment.

  3. A description of what type of company the suggested improvement is relevant to, particularly taking into consideration your company’s size, sector, and geographic market.

  4. Any links to resources, such as company best practices or research papers, that provide further context to the suggested improvements.

Once you have finished typing your feedback, press “submit” which will prompt an email confirmation of receipt.

If you would like clarity on a question or to discuss your specific company situation, please use the knowledge base portal to submit an inquiry to your respective regional contact.

Note that B Lab is in the midst of the biggest change to the standards and this impacts many aspects of our business; the technology we use, the tools and products we build and the certification processes we create.

The standards development process is the first step on this journey, and itself is a rigorous, multi-year process. Inline with industry best practice, this includes reviewing feedback, developing drafts of specific changes and consulting with expert stakeholders.
